MAIN FEATURES
Energy Efficient
Vinyl windows are excellent energy saving fixtures for your home and there are multiple efficiency options available depending on the area you live in. Insulated vinyl windows work to keep out the extreme heat and extreme cold. Tinted and coated glass options work to reflect heat; they reflect the sun’s heat off of your home in the summer and reflect your furnace’s heat back into your home in the winter. Weather stripping on vinyl window frames helps to additionally seal out water and limit air leakage. Installing vinyl windows can improve your home’s energy efficiency without compromising natural light.
Easy Maintenance
Single hung vinyl windows are very low maintenance compared to traditional wood frame windows. Vinyl windows never need to be repainted and they come in a variety of colours. Single hung vinyl windows offer the convenience of being able to tilt inwards into your home. This way you can clean both sides of the glass panes from inside.
Match Your Decor
Whether it’s texture or colour, these vinyl window components add to your home’s aesthetic and match your overall decor. Single hung vinyl windows are great for taller narrower spaces, making great use of the wall-space by letting in natural light to brighten a room. We offer classic colours that won’t go out of style, whether you choose a bold shade or a softer earthy tone.
Fully Welded Sash & Frame
Our windows are engineered and installed with a fully welded sash and frame, which vastly improves the longevity of the window by adding structural support. The corners of these windows are welded together to eliminate corner seams where elements most often enter your home. Fully Welded sash and frame windows keep out moisture and prevent air leakage.

COLOURS & GRILLES
Colours & Finishes
We offer single hung vinyl windows in a wide variety of colours to match both your style and your decor. Whether you choose a soft earthy tone or go for a bolder shade, our vinyl windows don’t need to be repainted and they retain their vibrancy over time. Choose from a variety of colour variants to coordinate with your interior and exterior trim.
Grilles
Grilles consist of horizontal and vertical patterned aluminum bars that divide the glass into smaller squares. On modern vinyl windows grilles can really help build your home’s overall aesthetic by giving your exterior a pop of texture. Grilles can be removable, or they can be conveniently installed between the panes of glass for easy cleaning! Simulated Divided Lites are a type of grille where vinyl trim is applied to both the inside pane and outside pane of the window, to create the look of multiple small panes of glass without compromising the energy efficiency of the window.
GLASS & HARDWARE
Encore Handles
We offer a range of Encore hardware to protect your home. Encore window locks provide the perfect blend of aesthetic subtlety and functionality. Encore Truth hardware is extremely user friendly and requires up to 33% less effort to operate.
Tinted Glass
Tinted and textured glass window panes provide privacy but allow natural light to enter the room. Tinted glass provides daytime privacy by controlling glare and reflecting sunlight out which reduces visibility from the exterior. Gray and bronze tinted glass makes for a more modern vinyl window.
Climate Specialized
We offer cost effective glass options for you, based on the area you live in. Energy Advantage Glass Low-E has a high Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) which makes it well suited for homes in the greater Barrie area. It retains high amounts of heat in the harsher winters while preventing heat gain during humid summers.
Obscure or Privacy Glass
Textured panes such as frosted, satin or glue chip are great options for bathroom or basement windows. Unlike tinted glass, textured privacy glass provides permanent privacy regardless of exterior glare or interior light.
Double Glazing
At Weaver, we offer a wide range of energy efficient glass options that can help reduce your home energy costs, including double glazed windows. As the name suggests, double glazed vinyl windows have two panes of insulated protection instead of standard single pane windows. The panes are separated by a space bar and sealed to prevent heat loss and condensation. Double glazed windows are perfectly suited for the harsh winters common in the greater Barrie area.
Argon or Krypton Gas Filled
Argon and Krypton are colourless, odourless non-toxic gases that can be used to fill in the gaps between window panes. These gases move slowly between the panes of glass to reduce thermal heat transfer through the window. Argon or Krypton gas filled windows are a great way to reduce your energy costs and improve your home or building’s overall energy efficiency.

Energy Star Ratings Criteria
Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) has issued a set of guidelines called the ENERGY STAR® Technical Specification for Residential Windows, Doors, and Skylights sold in Canada. These guidelines determine the criteria that must be met for products to qualify for the ENERGY STAR initiative. The specification outlines the requirements that residential windows, doors, and skylights must meet to be promoted as ENERGY STAR qualified in Canada. To be considered for the ENERGY STAR label, manufacturers must sign an agreement with NRCan and ensure that their products meet the specified criteria. This specification plays a crucial role in making energy-efficient products available to Canadian consumers and ensuring that manufacturers meet the high standard of quality and efficiency. More information can be found in the linked article below.
Energy Star Ratings by Region
In Canada, climate zones are categorized according to heating degree day (HDD) values, which are used to establish the suitable energy efficiency standards for buildings and products. The Model National Building Code (2010) specifies the HDD values utilized to classify particular locations on a map. These zones help guarantee that buildings and products meet the necessary energy efficiency standards for their area, which helps decrease energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. An informative article on this topic is available for reading.
Energy Star Performance Search
In order to receive the ENERGY STAR certification, windows and doors have to meet specific energy efficiency standards, which are determined by two key factors. These include the U-factor, which evaluates the amount of heat that escapes through the window or door, and the Energy Rating (ER), which accounts for the passive solar heat gain and general heat loss and air leakage of the item. Improved energy efficiency is indicated by a lower U-factor and a higher ER. More information on this topic can be found in the informative article below.
Canadian Energy Efficiency Trends
The trend of Canadian homeowners and businesses adopting energy-efficient practices and technologies is on the rise, as they aim to reduce energy consumption and costs, while promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility. The Canadian government is also promoting energy efficiency through programs and policies, like the Energy Efficiency Regulations which set minimum energy performance standards for different products. The demand for energy efficiency is predicted to grow as more individuals recognize its advantages, and as technology advances.
FAQS
Are my windows custom size?
At Weaver we construct every window to your specific dimensions and preferences. So in a way, there are no “standard dimensions” and every window is custom. The only thing that’s standard is high quality.
How long will the window be missing after you take the old one out?
Typically it takes 5 minutes from the time the old window is removed and the new one is installed. After the insulation is secured around the new window, your nest is protected from the outside elements.
Can you replace my brick window sills without my window falling out?
Yes we can! The needed masonry work can be done under your existing window or door because windows and doors are actually fastened to the frame of your house, not the masonry. It's important however to keep an eye on the bricks around your doors and windows, as loose bricks are a safety concern.
How does the consultation process work?
After you request a quote from Weaver, one of our sales consultants will schedule a call with you to discuss your project. Following that, we conduct an on-site visit at your convenience, to assess the full scope of your needs and the project itself. Once we digest all the details from our visit, we develop and send you a custom proposal, explaining how we plan to get the job done right.
