A bow window is similar to a bay window in that it extends outwards from a house. Bow windows differ from bay windows because they incorporate more panels, sometimes up to 4 or 5. More panels create a rounder, semi-circular outcropping, with softer angles than a bay window. At Weaver Exterior Remodeling, we offer a wide range of bow windows in different styles and materials to suit any home's design and budget. Our team of experts can help you select the perfect bow window to enhance the beauty and functionality of your home.

MAIN FEATURES
Energy Efficient
Vinyl windows come in a wide range of versatile energy efficient options. From triple glazed, to argon gas filled to tinted glass, vinyl windows work hard to create natural light while saving you money on your energy bills. By reflecting heat outwards in the summer and reflecting heat inwards in the winter, vinyl windows are the best way to make your home more efficient and increase your curb appeal.

Easy Maintenance
One of the great things we love about vinyl windows is that they are famously easy to care for. With bow windows, cleaning the inside and outside of the window is easy because each panel is stationary. Vinyl bow windows don’t need strong cleaning chemicals, but rather they can be washed with a mild soap.
Match Your Decor
At Weaver we have a wide selection of colours and styles to match your decor in every room! With 14 shades of vinyl in a range of soft and bold earth tones, you’ll have no trouble coordinating with either your interior or exterior colour palette. Coupled with an equally large selection of window hardware, Weaver has the styles that suit you best.

Warm Edge Spacers
Window spacer technology can improve your energy efficiency because they reduce heat transfer at the edges of your bow windows. Warm window spacers have a moisture absorbing barrier, which helps improve insulation. Spacers are engineered with the perfect amount of flex, so that they expand and retract with the hot and cold temperatures of the environment.

COLOURS & GRILLES
Colours & Finishes
Choose from our vast collection of vinyl colours to best match your space. With a range of shades from deep bold greens to soft and earthy taupes, you won’t have any trouble selecting a colour that will suit you. Paired with our equally broad range of hardware finishes, Weaver has what you need to match your style.

Grilles
Window grilles are aluminum bars that run vertically and horizontally on window panes, to create patterns of smaller rectangles or squares. On modern vinyl windows, grilles can help build your home’s overall aesthetic by creating an exterior pop of texture. Grilles can be installed in a number of ways. For easy cleaning, they can be fitted inside the panes of glass or they can be removable. With Simulated Divided Lites, grilles are installed on both sides of the glass to create the look of multiple small square panes of glass fused together, without compromising the energy efficiency of the window.
Window Seats
Installing a bow window creates a beautiful visual expanse that lets in lots of extra natural light. The soft angles of the bow window make it a great spot for a comfortable window seat. Window seats come in a variety of finishes and these bright spaces can help increase the resale value of a home.

Interior Options
Head and seat style bow windows have top and bottom panels that project outwards from a house. It’s what you build your reading nook on! Head and seat boards come in a variety of finishes to match your window trim and decor. With so many window jamb finishes available, bow windows are great for new construction builds! of your wall.
GLASS & HARDWARE
Hardware
At Weaver we offer a wide range of Encore Truth window hardware to protect your home. Encore Truth hardware is extremely user friendly, requiring up to 33% less effort to operate. Encore window locks come in a variety of styles to match your aesthetic preference and provide exceptional security.

Tinted Glass
Tinted window glass allows for natural light to enter your home while providing daytime privacy. Tinted glass controls the sun’s glare and reflects it outwards which reduces visibility from the exterior. Gray and bronze tinted glass creates the look of a modern vinyl window.
Climate Specialized
Here at Weaver we’ve had quite a bit of experience dealing with the extreme cold temperatures in Barrie. That’s why we provide a selection of Energy Advantage Low-E glass options that will help to lower your heating and cooling costs. Low-E glass has a high Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC), which means the glass reflects heat outwards in the summertime and also reflects your furnace’s heat back into your home in the wintertime. Energy Advantage Low-E glass will keep you comfortable, no matter the weather.

Double Glazing
Another way Weaver can help you reduce your home energy costs is by installing double glazed windows as well. Wonderfully suited for the winters here in Barrie, double glazed vinyl windows have an extra layer of glass for insulated protection against heat loss and the accumulation of condensation.
Argon or Krypton Gas Filled
Argon and Krypton are colourless, odourless non-toxic gases that can be used as insulation in the gaps between window panes. These gases move slowly between the panes of glass to reduce thermal heat transfer through the window. Argon or Krypton gas-filled windows are a great way to reduce your energy costs and improve your home or building’s overall energy efficiency.

Energy Star Ratings Criteria
The Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) has issued a set of guidelines known as the ENERGY STAR® Technical Specification for Residential Windows, Doors, and Skylights Sold in Canada. These guidelines determine the criteria that must be met by residential windows, doors, and skylights in order to be promoted as ENERGY STAR qualified in Canada. Manufacturers are required to sign an agreement with NRCan and ensure that their products meet the specified criteria in order to receive the ENERGY STAR label. This specification is essential to ensure that energy-efficient products are available to Canadian consumers and to hold manufacturers to a high standard of quality and efficiency. For more information, please refer to the article.
Energy Star Ratings by Region
In Canada, climate zones are defined based on the amount of heating required, known as heating degree day (HDD) values. These zones are used to establish the energy efficiency standards for buildings and products. The Model National Building Code (2010) provides guidelines for identifying the HDD values for different regions on a map. The purpose of these zones is to ensure that buildings and products meet the energy efficiency standards appropriate for their location, which ultimately leads to a reduction in energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Check out this informative article for more information.
Energy Star Performance Search
In order to earn the ENERGY STAR certification, windows and doors have to fulfill specific criteria for energy efficiency. The U-factor and Energy Rating (ER) are the key determinants of this certification, as they measure the amount of heat lost through the products and the passive solar heat gain, overall heat loss, and air leakage. An improved energy efficiency is indicated by a lower U-factor and a higher ER. For more details, refer to the informative article.
Canadian Energy Efficiency Trends
The trend of Canadian homeowners and businesses adopting energy-efficient practices and technologies is on the rise, with a focus on reducing energy consumption and costs while also promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility. The Canadian government has implemented various programs and policies, such as the Energy Efficiency Regulations, to encourage energy efficiency by setting minimum energy performance standards for different products. This trend is predicted to continue as more individuals become aware of its advantages and as technology advances.
FAQS
Are my windows custom size?
At Weaver we construct every window to your specific dimensions and preferences. So in a way, there are no “standard dimensions” and every window is custom. The only thing that’s standard is high quality.
How long will the window be missing after you take the old one out?
Typically it takes 5 minutes from the time the old window is removed and the new one is installed. After the insulation is secured around the new window, your nest is protected from the outside elements.
Can you replace my brick window sills without my window falling out?
Yes we can! The needed masonry work can be done under your existing window or door because windows and doors are actually fastened to the frame of your house, not the masonry. It's important however to keep an eye on the bricks around your doors and windows, as loose bricks are a safety concern.
How does the consultation process work?
After you request a quote from Weaver, one of our sales consultants will schedule a call with you to discuss your project. Following that, we conduct an on-site visit at your convenience, to assess the full scope of your needs and the project itself. Once we digest all the details from our visit, we develop and send you a custom proposal, explaining how we plan to get the job done right.
