About the Canada Greener Homes Grant
Receive up to $250 per window* – to a maximum of $5,000 when you upgrade to ENERGY STAR®’s Most Efficient 2023 high-performance windows.
The government has made up to 700,000 grants of up to $5,000 available to homeowners to help them make their homes more energy-efficient through retrofits to their homes including windows and doors.
EnerGuide evaluations (worth up to $600) are also available to help homeowners plan their retrofit projects.
The total amount that participants are eligible for under the initiative is $5,600.
*Note: The Canada Greener Homes Grant applies to each window rough opening – bay or bow windows with more than one glass unit qualifies as one rough opening.

Canada Greener Homes Grant 2023
The Government of Canada is offering a grant process in order to upgrade homes to make them more energy efficient.
The initiative aims to make a significant environmental impact, stimulate the economy, and make homes comfortable and efficient.
You will need to complete at least one of the retrofits that is both eligible and recommended by your energy advisor in their evaluation report to receive a grant. You can combine eligible retrofits to receive up to $5000.
There is a Grant application process that you can find here.
As with any government program, they may change their availability. At this time the government website states “Only homeowners who conduct at least one retrofit will receive a grant. Provide and keep copies of all of your documents until March 31, 2028.”
