A picture window is a timeless classic, set simply into a wall. Because picture windows don’t open, they are extremely energy efficient and secure. They keep out the elements completely and only let in the light. Picture windows can be installed without window grilles, for an unobstructed, picturesque view. Picture windows are the easiest to customize because they have no moving parts, so they can be installed in a wide range of various different shapes and styles. At Weaver Exterior Remodeling, we offer a wide range of picture windows in different styles and materials to suit any home's design and budget. Our team of experts can help you select the perfect picture window to enhance the beauty and functionality of your home.

FAQS
MAIN FEATURES
Energy Efficient
Because picture windows are non-opening, there are fewer seams or entry points for air infiltration or heat loss. This makes picture windows the most energy efficient windows you can install. Additionally, picture windows can be installed in a variety of energy efficient insulated glass options, such as triple glazed or argon filled. This ensures protection from heat loss through thermal heat transfer, making picture windows a beautiful and cost-effective addition to any room.
Easy Maintenance
Picture windows are easy to maintain, especially when they are installed without grilles for an unobstructed view. They don’t have screens that require cleaning, and like all vinyl windows, picture windows don’t require strong solvents for cleaning. Picture windows won’t lose their colour over time, and never need to be repainted.
Match Your Decor
Picture windows create beautiful natural lighting in any room and they can be custom fit because of their simple non-opening construction. We offer vinyl windows in classic colours that won’t go out of style, so whether you choose a bold shade or a softer tone, we can customize your picture windows to match your space.
Fully Welded Sash & Frame
Our windows are engineered to last. At Weaver we install windows with a fully welded sash and frame to increase the window’s structural stability and eliminate corner seams where air and water leakage can occur. The sturdy build of fully welded sash and frame windows increases their overall longevity.

At Weaver we are proud to offer our customers a unique Lifetime Warranty on our products. The Weaver Lifetime Warranty is how we go above and beyond to care for our customers.
COLOURS & GRILLES
Colours & Finishes
At Weaver we are pleased to offer our clients a selection of hardware finishes and colours of vinyl to choose from. With soft and bold tones available, coordinating with your decor is no problem. Installing vinyl windows can increase your home’s curb appeal, and because these colours don’t fade over time, you won’t have to worry about maintenance or repainting.
Grilles
Picture windows can either be installed without window grilles for an unobstructed view, or they can be installed with grilles, for a more traditional look. Grilles are small aluminum bars that run vertically and horizontally over window panes to create the appearance of smaller square panes of glass. On modern vinyl windows grilles help create texture on the exterior of a home, adding to the overall aesthetic. Grilles can be removable or they can be fitted in between the panes of glass for easy cleaning and maintenance. Grilles can also be installed on both the inside and outside of a window pane. This style is called Simulated Divided Lite, and creates the look of separate glass panes without compromising the energy efficiency of the window.
GLASS & HARDWARE
Tinted Glass
Tinted window glass can improve your privacy during the day. Gray and bronze tinted glass controls the sun’s glare by reflecting it back outwards, minimizing visibility from the exterior of your home. These window tints create a modern look and add privacy without reducing the amount of natural light entering your space.
Climate Specialized
We offer cost effective glass options for all of our customers in the greater Barrie area. Energy Advantage Glass Low-E has a high Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) which makes it well suited for Canadian homes. Low-E glass retains high amounts of heat in the harsher winters while preventing heat gain during humid summers.
Obscure or Privacy Glass
Because picture windows do not open, they make great bathroom windows. Frosted, satin or glue chip glass are textured glass options we offer at Weaver. These textured types of glass create permanent privacy while still allowing natural light to pass through.
Double Glazing
We install a range of energy efficient glass options to help you reduce your home energy costs. Double glazed windows, have two panes of glass instead of standard single paned windows. Double glazed vinyl windows offer insulated protection against heat loss and condensation, as the panes are separated by a space bar and sealed. Double glazed windows are perfect for the harsh winters common in the greater Barrie area.
Argon or Krypton Gas Filled
Argon and Krypton are non-toxic, colourless gases that can be used as insulation between the panes of glass in windows. Argon and Krypton move slowly between the glass panes to reduce the amount of thermal heat transfer through the window. This means that the heat from your furnace doesn’t pass through the glass in the winter, and the sun’s heat doesn’t enter your home in the summer.

Energy Star Ratings Criteria
To qualify for the ENERGY STAR program in Canada, Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) has issued guidelines called the ENERGY STAR® Technical Specification for Residential Windows, Doors, and Skylights. This specification outlines the criteria that must be met by manufacturers for their residential windows, doors, and skylights to be promoted as ENERGY STAR qualified in Canada. Manufacturers must agree to meet the requirements set out by NRCan and have their products approved to display the ENERGY STAR label. This is important for ensuring the availability of energy-efficient products in Canada and setting high standards for manufacturers in terms of quality and efficiency. More information can be found in the linked article.
Energy Star Ratings by Region
In Canada, different climate zones are identified and categorized based on the degree of heating required in that region, which is known as heating degree day (HDD) values. The Model National Building Code (2010) provides the HDD values that are used to classify different locations on a map. These zones are helpful in ensuring that buildings and products meet the appropriate energy efficiency standards for their respective locations, leading to a reduction in energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. A detailed article on this topic is available for reference.
Energy Star Performance Search
In order to receive the ENERGY STAR certification, windows and doors have to fulfill specific criteria for energy efficiency. The U-factor and Energy Rating (ER) are the key factors that determine the energy efficiency of these products. The U-factor measures the amount of heat lost through the window or door, while the ER takes into account passive solar heat gain, overall heat loss, and air leakage. A lower U-factor and a higher ER indicate better energy efficiency. Further details can be obtained from a useful article on this topic.
Canadian Energy Efficiency Trends
The trend of energy efficiency is on the rise in Canada, with both individuals and organizations adopting practices and technologies that reduce energy consumption and costs, while promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility. The Canadian government is also supporting this trend through programs and policies, such as the Energy Efficiency Regulations, which set minimum energy performance standards for different products. As more people become aware of the benefits of energy efficiency and technology continues to advance, this trend is expected to keep growing. Read more here...
FAQS
Are my windows custom size?
At Weaver we construct every window to your specific dimensions and preferences. So in a way, there are no “standard dimensions” and every window is custom. The only thing that’s standard is high quality.
How long will the window be missing after you take the old one out?
Typically it takes 5 minutes from the time the old window is removed and the new one is installed. After the insulation is secured around the new window, your nest is protected from the outside elements.
Can you replace my brick window sills without my window falling out?
Yes we can! The needed masonry work can be done under your existing window or door because windows and doors are actually fastened to the frame of your house, not the masonry. It's important however to keep an eye on the bricks around your doors and windows, as loose bricks are a safety concern.
How does the consultation process work?
After you request a quote from Weaver, one of our sales consultants will schedule a call with you to discuss your project. Following that, we conduct an on-site visit at your convenience, to assess the full scope of your needs and the project itself. Once we digest all the details from our visit, we develop and send you a custom proposal, explaining how we plan to get the job done right.
