New construction windows refers to window installations that go right down to the house framing and studs. This can be a new build home, renovation or addition, or it can be a replacement project if your existing window studs are damaged. New construction windows require the siding of your home to be removed, so that the new window can be attached to the frame of the house. When building a home from the ground up, new construction windows allow for the most flexibility when it comes to custom window shapes and sizes. At Weaver Exterior Remodeling, we offer a wide range of new construction windows in different styles and materials to suit any home's design and budget. Our team of experts can help you select the perfect new construction windows to enhance the beauty and functionality of your home.

MAIN FEATURES
Energy Efficient
New construction windows will ensure your home is operating at the highest possible energy efficiency. A new construction window installed right at the frame means you get the best possible insulation. With new climate specialized glass options that prevent heat loss in the winter and prevent heat gain in the summer, new construction windows will keep you comfortable no matter the season.

Easy Maintenance
Vinyl windows are characteristically easy to maintain and new construction windows are no exception. With the proper weather stripping, vinyl windows prevent moisture from entering your house at the seams, and of course because the frames are synthetic they won’t ever rot or deteriorate. At Weaver we offer several vinyl colour variants that won’t need to be repainted so your new construction windows will last for years.
Match Your Decor
New home construction windows offer the best opportunity to custom fit unconventional shaped windows into your home design! In addition, with new construction windows there is an opportunity to make sure your window colour and finishes match your design vision of the space. At Weaver we offer a wide range of vinyl colour variants and hardware finishes to match your style and decor.

Fully Welded Sash & Frame
We engineer and install all of our windows with a fully welded sash and frame to increase the longevity and structural support of the window. Fully welded sash and frame windows are welded at the corner joints to eliminate seams where air and moisture can leak into your home.

Colours & Finishes

Grilles
Window grilles are a classic element of window design that can easily be worked into new construction windows. Window grilles run horizontally and vertically over or between panes of window glass to create the appearance of multiple small squares of glass fused together and give your home’s exterior a textured accent. Grilles can be installed between glass panes, or they can be removable for easy maintenance.
GLASS & HARDWARE
Hardware
Encore Truth hardware is the highest quality window hardware available. Encore offers a range of fixtures for various window styles, all of which are sleek and modern. Encore Truth hardware will match your decor and provide exceptional security, all while being extremely easy to use.

Tinted Glass
Like all Weaver windows, custom built new construction windows can be fit with tinted glass. Bronze or gray tinted glass provides daytime privacy by reflecting light outward off of the glass. This reduces visibility from the house’s exterior during the day.
Climate Specialized
At Weaver we are happy to install your new construction windows with climate specialized glass options. Energy Advantage Low-E Glass has a high Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) that will help prevent heat loss in extreme cold winter temperatures and also prevent heat gain during hot, humid summers.

Obscure or Privacy Glass
Privacy glass is a textured glass options that, unlike tinted glass, provides permanent privacy regardless of interior and exterior light. Available in frosted, satin and glue chip, these translucent privacy glass options allow natural light to enter your space and are common new construction window options for bathrooms.
Double Glazing
Double glazed new construction windows will help maximize your home’s energy efficiency. The window panes are separated by a space bar and sealed to prevent heat loss and condensation. Double glazed windows are perfectly suited for the harsh winters common in the greater Barrie area and will improve your heating and cooling costs.

Argon or Krypton Gas Filled
Argon and Krypton gas filled windows are another great energy saving option. These gases can be sealed between window panes and act as insulators. Argon and Krypton are slow moving, so they prevent thermal heat transfer through the glass between your home and the outdoors. Argon and Krypton are smart options for new construction windows.

Energy Star Ratings Criteria
The guidelines set forth by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) known as the ENERGY STAR® Technical Specification for Residential Windows, Doors, and Skylights Sold in Canada, are essential in determining the criteria for qualifying for the ENERGY STAR program. These guidelines specifically outline the requirements that residential windows, doors, and skylights must meet to be marketed as ENERGY STAR qualified in Canada. In order to be considered for the ENERGY STAR label, manufacturers must sign an agreement with NRCan and ensure that their products meet the specified criteria. This specification is crucial for ensuring that energy-efficient products are available to Canadian consumers, and that manufacturers maintain a high standard of quality and efficiency.
Energy Star Ratings by Region
In Canada, the classification of climate zones is determined by the heating degree day (HDD) values, which are used to set energy efficiency standards for buildings and products. These values are specified in the Model National Building Code (2010) and are used to categorize different locations on a map. The purpose of these zones is to ensure that buildings and products meet the appropriate energy efficiency standards for their location, thereby reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. It is recommended to read an informative article on this topic.
Energy Star Performance Search
In order to receive the ENERGY STAR certification, windows and doors must fulfill specific energy efficiency criteria. The primary determinants of this are the U-factor, which gauges the amount of heat lost through the window or door, and the Energy Rating (ER), which takes into account the passive solar heat gain, overall heat loss, and air leakage of the item. Better energy efficiency is indicated by a lower U-factor and a higher ER. More information can be found in this informative article.
Canadian Energy Efficiency Trends
The trend of adopting energy-efficient practices and technologies is on the rise among Canadian homeowners and businesses. The motivation behind this trend is to reduce energy consumption and costs, while also promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility. The Canadian government is also playing a role in promoting energy efficiency through programs and policies like the Energy Efficiency Regulations, which establish minimum energy performance standards for various products. The trend towards energy efficiency is expected to continue as more people become aware of its benefits, and technology continues to improve.
FAQS
Are my windows custom size?
At Weaver we construct every window to your specific dimensions and preferences. So in a way, there are no “standard dimensions” and every window is custom. The only thing that’s standard is high quality.
How long will the window be missing after you take the old one out?
Typically it takes 5 minutes from the time the old window is removed and the new one is installed. After the insulation is secured around the new window, your nest is protected from the outside elements.
Can you replace my brick window sills without my window falling out?
Yes we can! The needed masonry work can be done under your existing window or door because windows and doors are actually fastened to the frame of your house, not the masonry. It's important however to keep an eye on the bricks around your doors and windows, as loose bricks are a safety concern.
How does the consultation process work?
After you request a quote from Weaver, one of our sales consultants will schedule a call with you to discuss your project. Following that, we conduct an on-site visit at your convenience, to assess the full scope of your needs and the project itself. Once we digest all the details from our visit, we develop and send you a custom proposal, explaining how we plan to get the job done right.
