Awning windows, like casement windows, are hinged on one side, but awning window sashes are always hinged at the top of the window frame. Able to swing outward, these windows allow for great air circulation while keeping out rain and debris. Awning style windows are typically smaller in size and are well suited for basements because of their exceptional functionality even when placed higher up on a wall. With the right hardware, awning windows can be operated with just one hand. At Weaver Exterior Remodeling, we offer a wide range of awning windows in different styles and materials to suit any home's design and budget. Our team of experts can help you select the perfect awning window to enhance the beauty and functionality of your home.

FAQS
MAIN FEATURES
Energy Efficient
Awning windows are excellent energy saving fixtures to have in your home. They enable great air circulation so you can reduce your reliance on an air conditioner in the summer. Awning style windows are available in a wide range of insulated or coated glass options which can further increase your energy efficiency by reducing heat transfer in the summer and winter. Vinyl awning windows seal tightly to the window frame to prevent moisture from entering your home.
Easy Maintenance
Like all vinyl windows, awning windows are very user friendly and easy to clean. They never need anything more than a mild soap, and because they swing outwards they are easy to clean from the interior and exterior. Vinyl window frames come in a range of colours that don’t fade and don’t need to be repainted.
Match Your Decor
Awning windows are perfect for basements because they let in natural light and are able to brighten the darkest spots in your home. With Weaver’s huge selection of Encore Truth hardware and colour selection, you’ll be able to custom coordinate your vinyl windows to your exterior colour scheme, interior paint colour or even match your flooring!
Fully Welded Sash & Frame
Weaver windows have a fully welded sash and frame. The corner joints on these windows are welded together to eliminate seams where moisture and air can enter your home. This tight seal also adds structural support to the window frame, which increases the lifetime of the window as well.

Lifetime Warranty on Windows
At Weaver we are proud to offer our customers a unique Lifetime Warranty on our products. For no extra charge, we cover all window components including hardware, window frames and sashes, insulated glass, and even accidental glass breakage. The Weaver Lifetime Warranty is how we go above and beyond to care for our customers.
COLOURS & GRILLES
Colours & Finishes
We at Weaver offer our clients a wide selection of finishes and colours of vinyl to choose from. With soft and bold tones available, coordinating with your decor is no problem. Installing vinyl windows can increase your home’s curb appeal and with finishes that don’t fade over time, you won’t have to worry about maintenance or repainting.
Grilles
Window grilles are aluminum bars that run vertically and horizontally in or along window panes to create the illusion of multiple small square panes of glass. Grilles add texture to an exterior facade without compromising the tight seal of the glass. For easy to clean grilles, they can be either removeable or they can be installed between two panes of window glass. We also offer a more traditional style of window grille called Simulated Divided Lite. Simulated Divided Lites are installed on both the interior and exterior side of a window pane for a classic look that adds an element of texture to your home’s design.
GLASS & HARDWARE
Encore Handles
Encore Truth hardware is the top of the line when it comes to window hardware. Available in multiple style and colour options, with Encore Truth Hardware you can be assured you are getting the best security and the best functionality possible. Requiring up to 33% less effort to operate and available in sleek snap-fit styles, Encore will be a subtle accent to match your decor while keeping your home secure.
Tinted Glass
Tinted glass is an energy efficient glass option that also provides you with daytime privacy. During the day tinted glass controls glare from the sun and reflects it outwards, which greatly reduces visibility from the exterior. Available in gray or bronze, tinted vinyl windows are a great modern accent for any home.
Climate Specialized
We know Barrie, and we know what kind of temperatures the winter brings. We are proud to offer a selection of cost effective Low-E glass options for our clients in the greater Barrie area. Energy Advantage Low-E glass has a high Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) which absorbs and reflects the sun’s heat. A benefit in the summer, it reflects heat outwards and keeps your house cool. In the winter Low-E glass reflects your furnace’s heat back into a room, reducing heat loss and keeping your costs low.
Obscure or Privacy Glass
Awning windows are great for basements because of the air circulation they enable. Basement windows are often good places to install privacy glass, which provides permanent privacy regardless of interior or exterior lighting. We offer privacy glass in three textures including frosted, glue chip and satin.
Double Glazing
One other way Weaver is helping to reduce your heating costs is by offering our clients double glazed windows. Unlike standard single pane windows, double glazed vinyl windows have an extra pane of glass for insulated protection that prevents condensation and heat loss. Double glazed windows offer a layer of added protection against the extreme cold temperatures of Barrie winters.
Argon or Krypton Gas Filled
Argon and Krypton are gas insulators that are sealed between panes of glass to reduce thermal heat transfer. These odourless and colourless gases are dense enough that they move slowly between the panes of glass and mitigate heat loss and heat gain. Argon and Krypton filled vinyl windows are an excellent way to reduce your energy costs in the winter and summer.

Energy Star Ratings Criteria
The guidelines for qualifying for the ENERGY STAR initiative in Canada for residential windows, doors, and skylights are outlined in the ENERGY STAR® Technical Specification. This specification is issued by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) and specifies the requirements that manufacturers must meet to qualify for the ENERGY STAR label. To be considered for this label, manufacturers must sign an agreement with NRCan and ensure that their products meet the specified criteria. This specification is critical in ensuring that energy-efficient products are available to Canadian consumers, and manufacturers are held to a high standard of quality and efficiency. For more details, please refer to the linked article.
Energy Star Ratings by Region
In Canada, climate zones are determined by measuring heating degree day (HDD) values, which are used to set energy efficiency standards for buildings and products. The Model National Building Code (2010) provides guidelines for identifying the HDD values that correspond to specific locations on a map. These climate zones are necessary to ensure that buildings and products meet energy efficiency standards that are appropriate for their location. This helps to minimize energy consumption and the emission of greenhouse gases. For more information, please refer to this informative article.
Energy Star Performance Search
In order to receive the ENERGY STAR certification, windows and doors have to meet specific energy efficiency standards, which are determined by two primary factors: the U-factor, which gauges the amount of heat loss through the window or door, and the Energy Rating (ER), which takes into account the passive solar heat gain and general heat loss and air leakage of the item. A lower U-factor and a higher ER indicate greater energy efficiency. For more information, please refer to this informative article.
Canadian Energy Efficiency Trends
The trend of adopting energy-efficient practices and technologies in homes and businesses is on the rise in Canada. This trend is fueled by the objective of reducing energy consumption and costs, and promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility. The Canadian government has played a role in promoting energy efficiency by implementing policies and programs like the Energy Efficiency Regulations that set minimum energy performance standards for different products. With increasing awareness of the benefits of energy efficiency and technological advancements, this trend is expected to continue in the future.
FAQS
Are my windows custom size?
At Weaver we construct every window to your specific dimensions and preferences. So in a way, there are no “standard dimensions” and every window is custom. The only thing that’s standard is high quality.
How long will the window be missing after you take the old one out?
Typically it takes 5 minutes from the time the old window is removed and the new one is installed. After the insulation is secured around the new window, your nest is protected from the outside elements.
Can you replace my brick window sills without my window falling out?
Yes we can! The needed masonry work can be done under your existing window or door because windows and doors are actually fastened to the frame of your house, not the masonry. It's important however to keep an eye on the bricks around your doors and windows, as loose bricks are a safety concern.
How does the consultation process work?
After you request a quote from Weaver, one of our sales consultants will schedule a call with you to discuss your project. Following that, we conduct an on-site visit at your convenience, to assess the full scope of your needs and the project itself. Once we digest all the details from our visit, we develop and send you a custom proposal, explaining how we plan to get the job done right.
