Grilles
Window grilles run horizontally and vertically on the surface or between panes of window glass. This creates the appearance of multiple small squares of glass fused together. Installing removable grilles or installing grilles between the glass means that cleaning your bay windows is easy! We also offer Simulated Divided Lite grilles which are attached to both sides of the glass, giving the exterior of your home an element of texture without compromising the energy efficiency of the window.

GLASS & HARDWARE
Hardware

The leading brand in security and function, Encore Truth locks and handles use up to 33% less effort to operate. With sleek flip-folding styles that won’t get tangled in your window blinds, Encore Truth hardware performs better than any other brand.
Tinted Glass
Tinted glass is an energy efficient glass option that also provides you with daytime privacy. During the day tinted glass controls glare from the sun and reflects it outwards, which greatly reduces visibility from the exterior. Available in gray or bronze, tinted vinyl windows are a great modern accent for any home.
Climate Specialized
We know Barrie, and we know what kind of temperatures the winter brings. We are proud to offer a selection of cost effective Low-E glass options for our clients in the greater Barrie area. Energy Advantage Low-E glass has a high Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) which absorbs and reflects the sun’s heat. A benefit in the summer, it reflects heat outwards and keeps your house cool. In the winter Low-E glass reflects your furnace’s heat back into a room, reducing heat loss and keeping your costs low.
Double Glazing
Unlike standard single pane windows, Weaver’s double glazed vinyl windows have two panes of glass to help reduce condensation, reduce noise and reduce heat loss and heat transfer during the winter and summer months. Adding an extra layer of insulated protection can vastly improve your home’s energy efficiency.
Argon or Krypton Gas Filled
Argon and Krypton are slow moving, colourless and odourless gases that can be used to fill the space between window panes. These non-toxic gases act as insulation, moving slowly between the panes of glass to reduce thermal heat transfer through the window. Argon or Krypton filled windows are a great way to improve your home’s overall energy efficiency.

Energy Star Ratings Criteria
In Canada, Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) has issued a set of guidelines known as the ENERGY STAR® Technical Specification for Residential Windows, Doors, and Skylights, which outlines the criteria for participating in the ENERGY STAR program. The guidelines specify the requirements that manufacturers of residential windows, doors, and skylights must meet to be eligible for the ENERGY STAR label. Manufacturers must enter into an agreement with NRCan and ensure that their products meet the stated criteria. This specification is crucial in ensuring that energy-efficient products are available to Canadian consumers and that manufacturers maintain a high level of quality and efficiency. More on this can be found in the linked article.
Energy Star Ratings by Region
In Canada, climate zones are determined by measuring heating degree day (HDD) values. These values are used to set energy efficiency standards for buildings and products. The Model National Building Code (2010) provides a map that classifies specific locations based on their HDD values. The zones are important in ensuring that buildings and products meet the energy efficiency standards required for their location, ultimately leading to a reduction in energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. For more information, refer to this informative article.
Energy Star Performance Search
In order to receive the ENERGY STAR certification, windows and doors are required to meet specific energy efficiency standards that take into account two key factors: the U-factor, which gauges the amount of heat lost through the product, and the Energy Rating (ER), which evaluates the overall heat loss and air leakage as well as the passive solar heat gain. Better energy efficiency is indicated by a lower U-factor and a higher ER. For more information, refer to this informative article.
Canadian Energy Efficiency Trends
The trend of using energy-efficient practices and technologies in homes and businesses is on the rise in Canada. This trend is being driven by the need to save on energy costs, as well as to promote environmental responsibility and sustainability. The Canadian government is also playing a role in promoting energy efficiency through programs and policies like the Energy Efficiency Regulations, which set minimum energy performance standards for different products. As technology improves and people become more aware of the benefits of energy efficiency, this trend is expected to continue.
FAQS
Are my windows custom size?
At Weaver we construct every window to your specific dimensions and preferences. So in a way, there are no “standard dimensions” and every window is custom. The only thing that’s standard is high quality.
How long will the window be missing after you take the old one out?
Typically it takes 5 minutes from the time the old window is removed and the new one is installed. After the insulation is secured around the new window, your nest is protected from the outside elements.
Can you replace my brick window sills without my window falling out?
Yes we can! The needed masonry work can be done under your existing window or door because windows and doors are actually fastened to the frame of your house, not the masonry. It's important however to keep an eye on the bricks around your doors and windows, as loose bricks are a safety concern.
How does the consultation process work?
After you request a quote from Weaver, one of our sales consultants will schedule a call with you to discuss your project. Following that, we conduct an on-site visit at your convenience, to assess the full scope of your needs and the project itself. Once we digest all the details from our visit, we develop and send you a custom proposal, explaining how we plan to get the job done right.
